01. The starry squadron

2018 is the 100th anniversary year of Poland’s regaining independence after 123 years of lack of presence on world maps. Such an equal age of the revives Poland is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate the independence of our country and an excellent contribution to the promotion of Polish history. The historical consciousness is extremely important for the shape of the present world and the consolidation of peace. For many years after the end of World War II, in the historical policy of communist and post-communist Poland, no importance was attached to the deception of history and showing the importance of fighting and sacrificing Poles for peace and for the defense of Western values.

This exhibition talks about the Polish-Bolshevik war of 1919-1920, about independence and honor, about the extraordinary history of Polish-American cooperation, about “ordinary” heroes, about the fate of Merian C. Copoper’s life, which in an unusual way entangled in the history of Poland and the United States.
